Privacy Policy

ShareGates ("we") helps creators sell access to files stored in their own cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive™). This policy describes how we handle information when you use our cloud service at sharegates.net.

Google user data we access

When you sign in or connect Google Drive™, we may access:

Account data: Google account email, display name, and subject identifier (userinfo.email, userinfo.profile).
Drive file access (drive.file): Only files you explicitly select via Google Picker™ or the Google Drive™ sidebar add-on (file id, name, mime type, size metadata). We do not request broad read access to your entire Google Drive™.
OAuth tokens: Access and refresh tokens for your connected Google account, encrypted at rest.

We do not access Gmail™, Google Chat™, Calendar, or other Google Workspace™ APIs beyond the scopes listed above.

How we use Google user data

Authenticate sellers and link your Google account to your ShareGates account.
Let you select files and create paid download links you configure.
Stream selected files to buyers only after authorized payment and within the access period you set.
Operate, secure, and improve ShareGates user-facing features.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, credit eligibility, data brokerage, or to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Data sharing and transfer

We do not sell Google user data. We transfer data only:

To Google (Google Drive™ API) to read and stream files you selected.
To payment providers you configure (Stripe, PayPal) to process buyer payments — we do not store buyer card numbers.
When required by law or to protect security.

We do not transfer Google user data to third-party AI/ML services for model training.

Data protection

OAuth tokens and payment API keys are encrypted at rest on our servers.
All production traffic uses HTTPS.
File contents are streamed for authorized downloads; we do not store seller file contents long-term.

Other information we collect

Payment configuration: Stripe/PayPal API keys you provide (BYOK), encrypted at rest.
Transaction metadata: order IDs, share IDs, and access grants for download authorization.

Google Drive™ add-on (sidebar)

When you use the ShareGates add-on inside Google Drive™, we receive metadata about files you select (name, id, mime type) and your Google account email via OAuth. We use this only to create paid download links you configure.

Retention & deletion

Disconnect Google Drive™ in ShareGates to revoke our access to new file operations (tokens are removed from active use).
Uninstall ShareGates from Google Workspace™ Marketplace to end the installation.
Email onebit1997@gmail.com to request deletion of your ShareGates account and associated data.

Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)

ShareGates' use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use Google user data only to provide and improve user-facing features of ShareGates (authentication, file selection, paid link creation, and authorized downloads). We do not use Google user data for serving ads, sell it to data brokers or information resellers, or use it to train non-personalized generalized AI/ML models.
